Cleaning inside stacks

I have stack hats that I put on when the truck sits to help keep the soot off my truck. And everything has been fine for the first year or so, but now no matter what I do Im getting soot flakes all over my truck at every start up . Nothing worse than washing your silver truck and taking it for 1 drive and it looks bad.
So im thinking theirs gotta be a good way to clean the inside. Im guessing a fireplace store and get a 6" chimney sweep. Unhook the flex go to town then wash it out.
But what do you do with the rest of it. The clamps are not gonna come off with out a fight and I really dont want to try and pull it all apart.
Any of you stack guys have any ideas?
Or am I just a DEE DA DEE for putting stacks on a silver truck?
Guess just like everything else it needs maintanence.

Open er up every now and then and blow the soot out. Usually if the truck isn't wet the soot blows off.

Just paint the truck black that should fix your problem .
But on a serious not I think you were onto something with the chimney sweep idea.

Trust me on the dyno even with the windows shut I had soot all over the seats, the dash, and center console. And for some reason maybe additives the flakes stick to my truck and ane dew or frost they turn to poo.

Wait til they're hot, spray water in them with the truck running, and the flakes will come right off, makes for a big mess but it'll get the flakes out.
