If you want Change on the Fly-- then TST is probably tops for that year, then Quad X2.
There are more and folks here will chime in with their preferences.
You will also need to do some significant upgrades in other areas to take advantage of that power and not tear things up. For instance, the Smarty only advises using up to sw 5 (up to 9 possible) on a stock clutch. You also need gauges to monitor your engine too...
I'll let others continue from here, that is a start and welcome to DTR

Smarty all the way! Unless, you want to switch on the fly, then I'll say the tst for big power. But, If you dont like looking at your cel all day, try the hot juice. Also be advised that with any of the three the trans wont last at all.

For a 2003 i would go with a tst. And down the road add a small presure box . I would also look into a smarty down the road. Have heard good things just don't know for sure have not got mine yet. Waiting for rpm's first.

I have the diablosport predator and really enjoy it. It puts out some good power. I havent dealt with their customer service so I dont know how good/bad it is. The new 230hp smarty program might be the way to go if you are looking for the most power.

Get the BullyDog Tripple Dog Downloader. Four Power levels, (Stock, Tow/Economy, Performance, and Extreme). On the fly adjustable, plenty of usable torque, and if you feel that you need it, you can download the Crazy Larry Program free of charge.

Out of the chips/programmers that I have tried the TST is definetly tops in the hp and tq. The Smarty is nice down low but it doesn't make the power that the TST does. The ability to shift on the fly is real handy also.
Good luck,

What are you looking for out of a chip/programmer? If you want to get in and go, then a programmer can be a good choice. Some people use their trucks for a variety of different things then adjustability is a great option. The one thing that you are going to need with either, WITHOUT QUESTION is going to be gauges. For regular driving/ work/ occasional hotrodding I like the Edge Juice wam. It has very smooth power and the gauges built into it. It also has some safties. The TST is a very aggressive module. PERSONALLY I dont like the way it fuels. Not very much in the bottom then it comes on hard. Puts a smile on your face, but that kind of power isnt always useful for everyone.

Chip= Ford
Fuel module=Dodge
But, there's also programers which aren't usually adjust on the fly. So, if you want something you can turn on and play and then shut off. You want a module. But, if you want something you can load up and drive one day and then unload, you want a programmer. The most awsome module is the TST with adjustable timming and pressure. Or a used TST with adjustable timming but not pressure. Which can be stacked with a pressure module. Like a Quadzilla X2, TS MP-8, or Edge EZ.
Then there are programmers. And there is only one in my mind. And that is the Smarty SR. Or just Smarty.
But for all out performance, You can stack a Smarty with a TST w/pressure, or a Smarty with TST with out pressure with any of the other above mentioned pressure boxes.
But first, you will need gauges, intake, boost elbow, and exhaust.
My next toy will be the Smarty.
It's all on here. Use your search and read, read, then read some more. I spend more time on here than actually driving my truck.

Oh, but first check your fuel bowl, if it has a small black object on the back of it, then you will need a lift pump first and foremost. If not, then you will still want to get a lift pump. But, not untill you have gauges and one module or programmer. If your fuel pressure drops when you are a "WOT" (wide open throttle" then you will need to invest in a high performance lift pump. And once you have a that module you will need a clutch in a very short order. South bend is the preferred make around here. Be sure to get at least a stage 1 filter which is just the filter and shroud. And at least a 4" exhaust. If you want to get real crazy, find a 04.5 and up exhaust elbow and clamp so you can run a true 5" exhaust. And don't forget the boost elbow. It took me from 24psi to 38psi. And I give 4 stars to the BD short shift kit too.
