I don't know why you couldn't run a programer with a reflash, that shouldn't matter. As for the chips its all a matter of what you want as far as upgrades and such. A tst you can't run turned all the way up without a turbo and some fuel pump and injection pump upgrades, but thats a good chip. The edge is a good chip if you get the attiude but they have been having some issuse with setting injector open bank codes and other crazy things but only on a few truck some never have a problem. If you do want a programmer a recommend a smarty or ppe everyone that buys one loves them especially the smarty.

Drive it stock for a while, computer Modificaions cause complications But if it is not your everyday tow/haul driver I would go with the smarty and put guages on it

I have the Quad STD box, it makes plenty of power, and they also make a race box with more power. My 06 has some timing rattle, it increases with each switch flip up the line. I am not sure I like the rattle and may send my box in and have it re-programmed to loose the timing. It boost fools, even in the off position, again that was another plus of the Quad, and why I wanted to use it.

I also have the Smarty. It was my plan to set the Smarty on a lower hp gain and use the Quad for some on the fly power. I may pull the Quad and just run the Smarty, it does an AWESOME job w/o the timing - no rattle just lots of smooth power.

It almost seems that the 06's are already tuned well and do not need the timing changes the boxes all have. The Smarty can be uploaded with or without timing all you need is a boost fooler with it, and I believe I read here somewhere that the Smarty can now do the boost fooling? That part someone else will have to contribute as I am not sure.

Just be advised that for now, the Edge Juice WILL NOT work on trucks built after June 2006. They are working on a fix, but won't be available until early March. I bought mine in October, and have been unable to use it

I've read this on here before, what were the changes made to these trucks in June that don't allow the edge to work on them?

I have a superchips on its way back to me. I had to send it in for an **** probe. I have not loaded it on my 06, but it was so awesome on my 04.5. But as happy as I was with it, I am considering a smarty since it does not void warranty as far as the dealer knows.

well its a box not a chip, the only thing you can chip is a older power stroke. I would say get the edge juice if you never plan on getting a clutch or building the tranny. tst has issues also with june and later trucks at the moment also. this was straight from the owners mouth. circuit boards are different in the 07 trks.

I was told that in June '06 they put '07 programming in the stock computer. They are working on software that will work with that programming
