Charging system help/ grid heater delete
Well we just put the new motor in and now I am not charging. We used the alternator from the old engine that was running and it worked fine when we pulled it out on Tuesday. I have checked the battery connections and they are tight and the plug is tight where the alternator hooks up. I have a code p2509 that is "powerdown data lost error". Any thought of where I should start to look? We also deleted the heater grid would this cause it? thanks for your help.

Check your fuses , and fusible links [ these can get weak , then break inside the insulation from movement , like when changing things around .
Is your tack working ?
Signal from it tells the computer to regulate the alternator .
