Changing exhaust houseing on stock turbo?
I've seen it asked numerous times. Searched to find an answer, couldn't find one.
Can the exhaust side be change on a stock turbo? I'd like a bigger no wastgated housing maybe a 12cm?

Well that's what I did on the 97's I changed the 12cm wastgated to a 16cm non wastegate and move the fuel plate forward seemed to work really good so why not on a 05?

So, you want to change out the tight, responsive 9cm housing on your HE351 for a non-WG 12cm w/o an ECM-driven solenoid to match the WG operation to engine load.
Are you trying to delay spool-up and raise maximum potential boost w/o overdriving the compressor?

As I recall on the 97's the spool-up difference wasn't noticable because of the extra fuel. I don't think the spool-up will be a problem. The exhaust restiction is what I want to get rid of. Where do I find a housing?

if you find and anwer to this please PM me I have been wanting the same thing for over a year. I hate on the interstate when the truck feels maxed out at 70 because of the small exhaust. I wanted a 12cm or 14 as well: and I think having a manual trans won't hurt me. I appreciate you starting this thread.
