Question CD Changer Wiring Location ?

Hi All,

Okay, so I've looked under all the seats in my '05 Ram Quad Cab and I cannot find the CD Changer wiring harness. I believe I should have it because I have the radio that's CD Changer Ready. Where is this harness usually located?

Knowing DC, you probably have to buy a cable from them and run it from the radio to wherever you want to locate the CD changer.

When you buy the cd changer from your dealer the cable will come with it. CD changer ready simply means that it has the port to plug into at the rear of the deck and the radio will control the changer when pluged into this port.

That's how it worked on the changer I got from Crutchfield.

Ah, okay thanks. I was hoping that Dodge pre-wired the truck for the CD changer, but I guess not. So, you have to remove the head unit when you install the CD changer?

To get to the rear changer port you will have to pull the radio, but it is fairly easy. Remove 1 screw by the trash bag hook on the center dash. Then, pull the center dash out. It is held on by spring clips. There are 4 screws that hold the radio in. Remove them and pull the radio.
