In the Northwest the Northwest Bombers do alot of Bombvoying to event, Saturday drives and Bomb Partys. The CB is a great to make the trip alot shorter. If you don't have one during these event, you are out of the loop!

I have mine mounted like Viking's. Once I got a 90° coax connector, it was all out of the way and worked just fine. My brake controller is to the left of it. Works well enough. I have my mike holder on the dash, though. Makes it easy to grab in a hurry. I run trucks and I use this radio almost daily. Either checking with them or directing traffic on site. With a trucking background, I feel funny without one..like something is missing. Most of mine are Cobra NWST25's...all peaked and tuned. Got one at nearly 24 watts like that. My big truck has a Cherokee Nightrider 100 in it. I like it anyway. I have had better luck with single antennas, than with duals. Easier to tune with only one. With them peaked, it is even more difficult to tune the antenna, so I'm really glad there are only singles on my trucks.

i have one of these in the Jeep. Thinking I need one in the truck also.

all you see is the hand held, I will also say, it was installed when I got the jeep. Not sure how much of the unit is hidden. All you see is the plug when not in use.

OK, I got me a radio. Now....single or dual antennas. I like the look of dual but DA says there are probs with duals. Im not looking to talk to our cannuck friends, just when on the highway. Also what brand ant to use, does it make that big of a difference? I will prolly do mostly listening instead of talking.

I really like the magnetic wip antennas. I have the "little Wil" made by Wilson. You can stick it where ever you want and if you need to you can take it off and lay it in the bed if your going off road or something. Mine is smaller than the big Wilson's but it works great. I mainly use it for listening and I can pick up truckers farther than I need too......it's alot of fun. Give them a look, there are plenty of hard mounts ideas that will also work good. Wison and Firestick are two good choices, just buy what you like and hook it up. If it doesn't work good you can tune it later. Oh ya, I say stick with single. If your not looking to reach out and touch someone than a single is all you need. Have fun and good luck.

I ran duals on both my big trucks for years with no troubles. I started having trouble when I had all my radios peaked. With more power being put out, it was almost imposible to get the SWR down where it should be. When I went to a single, it helped a lot and was some easier to keep it balanced. It is still sensitive, but it is doable. If you like duals and are just using a std radio, go fer it. Won't hurt a thing.
