CB mounting options? 06 only please
I'm sure that someone else has asked this but when you search the term "CB" it's too small to use. I was wondering if anyone has a CB mounted in their 06. I've seen the brackets that some people sell but I don't really like them. Any pics would be appreciated too!

Have you checked out these. Everything is built into one small unit. I am considering this. There is a perfect opening below the center of the dash to mount the rest of the unit.

Pic is my 06' with Cobra 29series CB. Made the brackets myself. Big Bob's mount wasn't available yet. Try search for the Cobra 75 series. I hated it. Let it go with the 96' I sold. Many others are unimpressed with it also.

Yeah I'm not too impressed with DC's use of the tranny hump. Why exactly would you put a center console in a truck with a bench seat? I am thinking about taking the dash apart and seeing if I can't recess the cb back into the flat vertical area in front of the cup holders, under the dash cubbie holes. I was also thinking about checking to see just how hard it would be to try and slide only the center seat back a few inches and mounting it vertically between the seat and console. And finally I got to thinking that it would be nice if someone rigged something up like those cupholders Geno's sells that clip in on the front of the armrest......but alas, I have little time and am a bit lazy too

I have mine mounted beside the 4wd shifter. Its a couple inches off the floor so it doesn't stick up but about the same height. Wanted to flush mount it in the dash but the heater box behind it is in the way.

I know that ARB make a CB mount that looks real cool. Not sure how much it costs though, but you can see it on their website at www.arbusa.com/.

What about antenna mounts? I have the one off of my 02. It’s a fender mount that uses one of the fender bolts to mount it to the truck. I could make it work by modifying the bracket and/or making new holes on the truck. The only problem is the antenna would angle forward a bit.
Does anyone make fender mounts for the 3rd gen trucks yet?

I have one and it's SWEEET!! I am in the process of transferring it over to my truck since I had it on my H2!

I use the cobra all-in-one unit like Allen shows. For an antenna, I used a through-th-glass mount on the back window. Looks like a large cell phone antenna. It tuned up to a good SWR. Because the antenna isn't the best, I stuck a 50watt linear amp on the thing. It'll reach out and touch anyone!!!

I have mine installed just behind center console slightly to the passenger side. That way it cannot be seen looking at the dash or near shifter. I think CB's are ugly and wanted to hide mine. And a slight glance and a reach behind I grab the mic easy. It is pointed straight up like the other ones pictured in this post.
