CB & Antenna Installed (Pics)
I finally got my CB installed in the new truck also a new antenna. I went with the K-40 Super Trucker. I had to get creative with the install on the cb. The dashes in these 3rd gens are too functional.

Looks good. Thats the same place I have my cobra 29 mounted. But I went with a wilson antenna mounted on the roof. These truckes are a little short on mounting places for extra stuff like CB's and what.

keep the pix coming, I wanna add a CB to mine, just want it to look good, so I need all the ideas I can get!! Im thinking about going with that remote mount CB where all the controls are in the handpiece. I believe its the Cobra 75 WX ST. Anybody got any comments on this unit, good or bad???

Guessing a nightwatch? Been thinkin about getting one, will look at this place for a mounting place. FYI, you can find articles on how to bump up the amp on these plus get an echo board for it.

I was going to go that route, but it won't allow you to hook up a P.A. I like yelling at people (girls).

I like how you mounted the antenna buckshot that's a good idea. I think I'm gonna go with duals like that mounted on each side of the slider glass. I'm not so sure about the cb location though I've seen them on both sides of the console down there but I worry about spilling drinks on it there cause it does happen in my truck sometimes. Overhead would be cool but the stupid lie-meter on these 3rd gens is in the way.

Thank's guys! I thought about duals, but unless you have a good 8ft gap between them, I think there would be too much interference.

Buckshotmckee,
How are the SWRs with the antenna in that position? Only reason i ask is that if you are able to get the coil, the red part that says K40 on it above the roof line, i think your radio will perform better, better reception and better transmit. There might be a lot of reflection coming off the cab of the truck causing higher then normal SWR readings. Just thought i would share the idea. It looks good though.
