03CTDCO - as long as it's certified Gl-5 I believe, you are good. Some folks report chattering/noises using the Amsoil 75w90, and I've been one of them. I switched to Mobil 1 75w90 synthetic and have no more noise issues.

For you guys that did the PML swap already, did the stock gasket fit
and was it needed if your careful and try to salvage the old one ?
Trying to figure out if I need to order a new one.
Does DC allow a form a gasket like Permatex ?

Is the gear lube sold in qts ?
10pints = (the breakdown per units)
5qts, or 1.25 gal, or 4.73 litres, or 160 oz
5 qts is a huge amount of fluid. Didnt realize
the rear end was that big !!...yikes

You shouldn't need a new gasket, the OEM one is usually a viton material and you can reuse it easily, if not just use high temp silicone and it will do the job for you anyway. Remember you won't be taking it off agiin as it has a drain to service the diff anyway.
Call us if you have any questions, and on all the 2003+ trucks check the glove box for the axle ID info before you call to order. We have seen a number of trucks with axles they weren't "supposed" to have and it saves reshipping the correct/incorrect cover to you. Plus you don't have an empty diff waiting around for a correct cover this way!

I haven't seen anyone mention Red Line fluid for the differential. A local store carries Red Line 75W-90. Do you all think this would be ok to use? I'm a 2WD and not a limited slip.

I'm not sure who manufactures the Mopar Gear Oil however, I will say Mobile 1 Syn. is great. I use to use it, had absolutely no problems in the past on any of my vehicles. I don't want to start an oil war here so I'll just say I believe all synthetics are fantastic.
I can't say for sure which diferential you have since I have the 2004.5, which has the TracRite in it........I would say your 03 is the same. Below is the link to the AAM site if you want to learn a bit more on the difs......perhaps give them a call and they will tell you exactly which one you have.

hi, I am interested in a replacement diff cover with a drain in it such as those mentioned here. I would like to upgrade both front and rear diffs.
question for you guys, I upgraded to 315 tires and my 315 spare barely clears the factory diff cover, these extra capacity diff covers, will they allow me to continue with my 315 spare?
