So I followed the instructions to update my Smarty as posted in another thread....everything went smooth until I tried launching the SmartyUSB downloader to upload a new Smarty file...

I get this error message: "File not compatible with version of Smarty"

The only hiccup I had before-hand was getting the hardware wizard to recognize the Smarty correctly so I could load the driver. I had to go threw the wizard manually and recognize the Smarty as a "USB Serial Converter" where I used the drivers that you download from the MADS website.

Anyways...I cant get it to work and I really wanna try the file for the aftermarket turbo so I can have boost-fooling....

Any help would be greatly appreciated....I dont know what I did wrong.

 

Did you download the correct program version for your SMARTY?
S-04 uses version 3xx programs
S-06 uses version 4xx programs

Also remember that you need to "Unzip" the file as I have read from other posters. If you are unfarmiluar with the term as a friend that si knowledgable about computer terms. If you have done this already then I can not offer any other help.

 

That might be my mistake. I was in the download section for S-04 which says for 2003-2005 but after looking at the other download page for S-06...I'm thinking I need that software.

I will give it a shot when I get my truck back from the tire shop....had to get the rubber rotated around

 

On the storage box there's a label stating either S-04 or S-06.
