Can you spray center caps with clear enamel?
i have moto metal 957 rims with chrome center caps. my last chrome center caps lasted a year and chipped/peeled away. i have a new set now. is there some clear epoxy/enamel etc that i could paint over the chrome to seal/protect them? will it look the same? also how do you clean corroded/chipped aluminum polished rims? my factory clearcoat is peeling on my moto metal 957's

I don't really have an answer but I would probably call a few body repair shops and see if they have any ideas.
I imagine some good clear enamel would work but not sure what the prep would be.

Are you running your rims in the winter?
You shouldn't have any problems if you don't but if you are running the rims in the winter I would just run without the center caps.
My rims are 4yrs old and they look perfect but I only run them from April untill mid Nov.

You can paint and powder coat over chrome. You have to clean it really well. The problem is that chrome is extremly smooth - that's what makes it shiny. Paint and powdercoat have trouble sticking to chrome; it needs a little texture to grab on to. Also, if it's chrome over plastic you can't use powder coating. The plastic can't handle the heat.
I have applied PC over chrome, but I'v used a green scrubby, sandpaper, or bead blasting to give it some texture. I used a translucent color, to give it a deep candy look. But any texture you give to the chrome will show through the PC or paint. That works well if it's the look you're after.
Krylon and other companies make paint specifically for glass. That might also work on chrome.
