I'll try that. He has told me that he in no way would try a 4wd launch. Looks like I might have a chance.

 

If he will not do a boosted 4wd launch, you have the upper hand. It makes a huge difference in the holeshot.

Dont race unless you like to lose , sand bag him & tell him how great his truck runs and that its the fastest diesel you have ever seen run on the street , and ask him what he did to it that he is not telling you LOL ... then save money and build your cummins weapon get the smarty SR dont waste your money on jr it is not that jr is bad its just that with mods sr is way stronger.
to beat your buddy here is your budget build 1) smarty sr 4.3 beta set on
#5, HTT Turbo 62/71/14, fass 95 pusher pump , HTS valve body , Suncoast TQ converter built to HTS specs , input & output shafts , billet flex plate hts clutch kit.
lower your tire pressure front and rear just above minimum lbs relax and enjoy the ride , your truck at a boosted launch of 10-15lbs will give him all he wants and then some be a close race, but you will win with a time of 12.98 -13.1 @ 108 and a few truck lenghts in distance at the finish.
this can be done with stock cp3 and injectors , with stock 4 inch exhaust.
anything less and its anybodys race , could go either way.

his truck is running based on the mods he has about a real high 13 right now. off the line you will take him by 2 lenghts and slowly walk him all the way down the 1/4 mile with the mods I listed . unfortunatley for us dodge guys the weight of our trucks and the crappy stock clutches, valve body , tq converter , flexplate, and weak input and out put shafts greatly diminishes the performance , but fix the trans , up the fueling , increase the air, keep EGTS cool and all the sudden you awaken the cummins sleeping in line 6 giant.

mod your truck tell him the first race is a gentlemens race he gives you 3 dodge truck lenghts and the go, the 2 trucks is for each cylinder he has on you and 1 full truck for the approx 650-1000 lbs of weight you have on him.
you will win but let off the throttle a little bit past the half way point beat him by 2.5 trucks LOL now lets get serious ! a lot of wear & tear for both of you so lets at least compensate the winner next race is for 2000.00 heads up same game plan let of a bit beat him by 1/2 to barely 1 truck you will win that too ! this should be profitable to you and leave him scrathing his head thinking well maybe he should of bought an inline 6 cummins LOL
Have fun man racing is fun and its even more fun to win especially when running a power stroke or a dura max watch out for the duramax they are wicked fast but DODGE is still king of HP with mods.
