Can I Light It?
Haven't installed my 64/71/13 yet but I'm starting to 2nd guess my decision. Truck is a daily driver and most of it is highway (75%), usually between 17 and 1900 rpm. Not really worried about turbo characteristics on the highway, but mainly on the street from a dead stop. What do you guys think? Several people have told me I'll be fine, but you don't see alot of 64mm singles compared to the 62.

With your mods, I think you will be just fine. It may take a little getting used to just because it is different...You may have to ease into the throttle a little more than you are used to to keep smoke down from the stop but in the long run I believe you will be happy.

I do not know about that specific turbo. I recently had a II Silver 62 that I think the specs are 62/74/14 and it spools better than the stock one did on my truck. I am running just the Smarty with stock sticks and it is great. I cannot think this HTT you are asking about would be that much different than mine. Seeing you have Flux 2's I would think you would spool that baby right up? I have seen others with the 64 singles as when I started asking around similar to what you are doing there were several people who chimed in as having the 64 and loved it. Good Luck with your decision

I like driving my Aurora 5000 with a 71mm compressor wheel up front on the street. You have absolutely nothing to worry about... (Aurora 5k=71/76/16)
You really ought to be thinking about going bigger.

Had just a few more mods on there before I went with the a5k. It still worked great. You WILL be happy.....until you get used to the power then youll be ready for the twins.

If I were you I would consider a 62, simply for twins later on. The mods you have will easily spool that 64. But the 64 on top of a twins setup is a bit much. I am in the same boat as some others in that I have a 66 and want twins, by all accounts it is cheaper to ditch the 66 and buys the twins outright -vs- downsizing the 66 to 62 for a twins set. So yes, a 64 will spool for you but if twins are in your future a 62 will make the whole process more economical.
One other thing you WILL want twins eventually. Its the natural order of things.

Try putting a boost controller on there, it will help spool the turbo faster. If you dont want to spend a whole bunch, you can build a manual controller for about $25.
If you are interested PM me and ill help you out

I was gonna use the 64 as the top and an s480 on the bottom. Nathan said that would be a good match. I guess he mustve guessed that I wanted to go big.
