Hey all,

I'm looking to broaden my power curve by adding some top end power, and maybe have a tad less smoke than a programmer alone. My truck with the Silver 62 hits hard, but later than stock, and still signs off much past 3,000 RPM, but isn't terrible to 3500. I have been told a TST R49 will help add some top end fueling that I'm not getting from the programmers. Plus, I've heard that the smoke levels are reduced with a box vs. a programmer....mainly on low RPM fueling. Being a 6 speed truck, I want to broaded the powerband (and I know injectors will help do this too) as well as have the ability to make more power than stock without the monster smoke you get from a programmer, particularly the smarty! I hate smoking out every person behind me on each shift when trying to light my Silver 62.

Anyway, since I already have an MP8 and autometers, do I need the R49 or will I get all the benefits with the R37, just no gauges or rail pressure adjustment? I suppose selling the MP8 could offset the R49 and I can get rail pressure adjustment then, and I can probably get more than the $175 price difference out of selling the MP8.

Also, can everyone post their tune combos w/ the TST and Smarty or BDDL. Meaning what settings are you finding ideal with both products stacked on your truck.

with Crazy Larry i could only run my TST on 2/0 before it drained the rail.

really? Mine made it to level 7 on the TST stacked with the BDDL when I had stock sticks and a stock pump. That was 613 HP with twins.

I ran a tst on my 05. stock programming it wouldnt smoke. I ran it on 4 or 5 most of the time with power pup on performance. seemed to run real well like this. I didnt have a rail pressure gauge to tell you what all that was. it was enough to eat a couple clutches. never did dyno the truck either

Yes. Scary Larry...TST on standard programming...rail pressure on 2 helped it some but it still drained with setting 2/0

I'd like to know from a dyno perspective with my stacks if I would get more power out of a bullydog scarry larry than my smarty. I ran on dunbars dyno last weekend and made 526hp and 895 torque. Torque seems really low to me I've ran the settings almost everywhere. I'd like to know if the numbers would be of any major difference with the bully dog? I guess I'll never know till I actually try.

Scary Larry isn't available for your truck...only Crazy Larry.

With scary larry i could only run 2/0 on the TST.

with crazy larry i could get up around 5/1 on the TST before draining the rail.

Smarty on 4 with the TST never was consistent for me....but my truck doesn't like Smartys either.

I am running the new "TST PM 3 CR, R-49" stacked with the "Wild Smarty"
and LOVE IT! I have stock injectors and a stock fuel system. I have not dynoed with this combination yet but dynoed with JUST the TST on Level 3/3 and with my stock charger and made 460 H.P. at that time.

I need to go back to the dyno and run as I have also added a Schwitzer 62/12 Turbo. With the TST on Level 2/1, the Wild Smarty on Setting #8 I ran a 13.1@ 105 MPH at our local drag strip here. With the truck on these settings I can spin my tires almost at will! IMO, it is a good combination!

I would think that with the TST stacked on what you have that you're going to get even more smoke. My programmer makes some decent smoke, but once the TST is on it's ridiculous.

Yes, there is smoke, but on my truck if I take it easy on the throttle and can be controlled pretty well. When I step on it hard, it will leave a pretty good black cloud, but if you stay in the throttle IMO it clears up pretty well.

Nowhere near how bad my 96' 12 valve is!!!

Yes, that's true. I can usually keep my truck from smoking with the TST turned on. It's kinda of fun, it's like walking a line...I feel it start pulling real well and it's almost like the engine is just begging me to give it more...If I give it much more that's when the smoke starts rolling. It does clear up pretty well with my SB though. I would like a way to get some of the smoke burnt off down low though.

Scary Larry and tst on 7x2 did 659hp on mine last summer...Stock injectors and cp3.
