bushwacker flares?
I have a set of pocket style flares that I am going to put on my truck, My question is what can I due to keep them from rubbing my paint off around the fenders? I heard you can use clear silicone, any other ideas.
thanks

I did not see any way to keep them from rubbing the paint off eventually. I had the Bushwacker Extend-A-Fender flares on for about 2 weeks. Still see a line on all fenders where the top edge of the flare was. The clear silicone sounds as good a guess as any. I liked the flares, but I could see that eventually they would cause paint issues. I do a lot of driving along the gulf coast, the sand and salty air with that flare combination would have been disasterous for me.

My flame red pre-painted ATS flares are being made right now, and although I don't have them in front of me, I'm pretty sure they have 3M adhesive for the side that sticks to the outer fender and small screws that screw directly into existing holes on the inside of the fender.

you could rhino, linex the edges of the fenders. I'm going to do my whole truck like it had two tone paint on it as the rock chips are already horrible along the bottom so I will just carry it up the line where the flares will go so they cant rub the paint and I don't have to ever worry about corrosion. Of course this is a future plan as I dont have the 5-600 dollars to buy the flares and liner yet.

Xenons !
The only way i prevented the damage was to take them off and bite the bullet and buy the Xenons. They are waaay better than the Bushwackers. They look better fit better and don't scratch your paint. They do take a little longer to install and fit, but once done are a better alternative.
