Yeah, it seems most of the "top dogs" are running Bullydog with a TST box. You need to be really built to handle the power though.

tranny and shafts mostly, but there is some engine work you might need to do to handle some power

look for member RamWheelsBy4 on this forum. he has a built truck with a TST stacked with something

Tranny for sure. Turbos for EGTs. You'll need to tackle the fuel system as well to really take advantage of it.

Does the bullydog or the tst add pressure?

I want to add power, but I don't want an injector cracking and filling my block with diesel or sticking open and galling a cylinder and piston.

I know these are risks that you take when adding power anyway, but I do not here a lot about other boxes causing problems. Just the pressure boxes.

Crazy larry MIGHT add a little bit of pressure. The boxes causing injector problems are straight pressure boxes like the Edge EZ which goes to the engine limits of pressure. The CL if it adds any pressure isnt very much.

What are some things to keep in mind when adding the timing and duration boxes? I am new to the 3rd gens, if I understand it correctly, injectors on our trucks are not needed really. Is that true. Seems that you can stack a couple of boxes, put on a turbo to keep it cool, Tranny mods, and have fun. Is that correct...

The Bully Dog adds pressure on any setting over the tow setting. The tow setting is timing and duration only.

I`m running the PP stacked with an EZ and haven`t had any problems yet ( knock on wood).

Mines the Power Pup. Its my understanding that the TP and PP are the same except the TP works on all makes whereas the PP is vehicle specific. The power is great.

TST/CLDL stack

It is an awesome stack if you can get it to work. "Really Built" in my case I thought I had a bionic tranny but I ignored the flex plate. You got it,.... she blew big time. It took out the hub on my tc, my rear main and rear main seal, and the bell housing. It was like a grenade. My flex plate looked like a jig saw puzzle and a sound I will never forget when it came apart. You need a fully race/comp from stem to stern with a billet or laminated flex plate.

When I went twins this stack ceased to work right and I got the dreaded high rpm pop and I have been trying to find a solution ever since. Tons of people have had this pop thingy with that stack. When I look back,... it's not worth the effort or the $$$ to overcome it. The TST/EZ or TST MP8 will get you great performance without the problems.
