Bully Dog extreme!

just installed the tripledog in my '05. when i run it on extreme and even performance its just so much freakin power it seems like somethings gonna give. ive got the 6 speed and unlike people with the auto saying their truck doesnt really do much but smoke on extreme......mine moves. it just feels like somethin slips a little. would that be my clutch or my transmission? it feels like my clutch. has anyone run the bddl on a 6 speed and how well does the clutch hold up? appreciate the info.

Do you have the G56 or NV5600 tranny?

Mine held up alot better than I expected. But I didn't have the BDDL before I upgraded the clutch. I was running A TST which on a lower setting would be comparable to the extreme setting on the BD. What ultimately killed it was towing with the added power, the clutch would slip and unlike the normal clutch of a nv5600, the crappy clutch in the G56 would make the pedal get rock hard and not release until you pumped it a few times. Sure made traffic lights fun! I wasn't long fixing that little problem.

My clutch didn't slip until I added the injectors to the mix. Now I can't run the BDDL at all until I get a clutch.

Which one is better is preference I think. The big difference is the NV5600 has a better overdrive. The G56 with 3.73's will rev as high as a NV5600 with 4.10's I've read.

Since I also have a 6 spd, will I benefit more from the Crazy Larry or the 2.3 version? I bought it just to help the mpg & alittle more power. Sounds like the 2.3 download is geared more for a auto tranny. So which one should I download?

Thanks

Good questions, I just uploaded 2.3 and noticed a few subtle changes, mostly in driveability around town stop and go action. It seemed to smoothen out the power so it's not so jerky off the lights and in the bottom gears. I'm holding out for Crazy Larry 2.3!

- NV5600. I got maybe 5000kms before my clutch started slipping, progressively worse until even tow/haul was breaking loose. I stuck in a SouthBend and haven't looked back.

I loaded a Crazy Larry on my friends 06 with 1000 miles on it and it started slipping the clutch within 5 miles. I would say its your clutch...

I slipped my dads clutch on the nv5600 as soon as I put a tst on. A call to southbend can solve all of the problems...

The G56 is a very quiet tranny that shifts well but if I had to choose I would rather have the tride and true nv5600.

A BDDL will slip a stock clutch on extreme. Performance mode will slip with a load when you get on it hard. Call your local Southbend dealer and he will give you the clutch for the job.

Some clutches hold better. i just started slipping mine bad. However it took enough fuel to make over 50 psi of boost at 1700 rpm's to make it start to slip. Now I can barely run my programmer alone, so a clutch is in my future.
