Bully Dog Downloader versions?

What is the difference between verions 1.4 and 1.5? Mine started life as a 1.0 and was reprogrammed to 1.4. Is it worth it to have it updated again?

I have 1.0, what did you notice after the 1.4 upgrade?

I went from a 1.0 directly to a 1.5 and this was when people were upgrading to 1.4. I just stopped in at Bully Dog while on vacation and asked for the latest upgrade expecting 1.4 and got 1.5 instead! Anyhow, this is what I've observed:

*The 1.5 on performance or extreme definitely smokes more than 1.0 under no/low boost conditions even without the pressure box stack. Maybe something was done on the duration portion of the downloadable program(s)?
*When the power comes on in lower rpms, 1.5 feels more like my TST box than 1.0 did. That is, the boost comes in very quick, but not instantaneous like the TST. Would suggest more low boost fueling with 1.5 than with 1.0?
*Also, 1.5 feels a bit smoother over the rpm range whereas 1.0 seemed kind of lacking in the low rpms.

Does the version 1.5 sound like your version 1.0? Hope this helps...

When mine had 1.0 in the performance and extreme settings the power didn't come on very smooth. Version 1.4 allowed the power to come on much smoother. It also has a provision for TSB 18-037-04. I don't think that the code for the TSB was in the stock mode on the downloader. That TSB came out about the same time I got my downloader.

JStieger, check your codes to see if you still get 633 and 602. What you described with version 1.5 sounds the same as version 1.4. To check your codes, with the engine off turn your key to the one position 3 times and the codes will display on the odometer.

I had version 1.0 and had it upgraded to 1.4 a couple of months ago. Had P0602 with both versions, can't get it to go away no matter what I've tried....Robert

Only code I get is P0602...it hasn't gone away over the last few weeks.

Why dont you use the downloder to remove the codes it has that option, also ver 1.5 has the same fueling curves as ver 1.4, 1.5 is so the dealers can up grade the programs on the downloder with out sending it back to Bullydog

I do use the downloader to remove code(s), but this particular one keeps on coming back. The BDDL was also pretty handy to have around to remove codes when my TST box kept on having major timing malfunctions a couple of weeks ago. My TST box should be arriving at TST tomorrow for a "tune-up" and I already can't wait to get it back!
