built tranny problems??
on my HTS built tranny, i've always wondered what this could be, when iam just coasting thru parking lots, or in driveways, and i aint got my foot on the gas, it will "clunk" sometimes, like its goin back n forth from 1st to 2nd..but it dont really seem to be changing gears. it just has a bad clunk sound, and u can feel it some. what could this be???

If it's when you slow down, It's a spring in the valving(there's two different spring colors/weights), anyway it sounds like it's shifting into 1st before you slow down or stop. It's not a big deal mine does it too, but it can be changed by changing that spring(sorry, I don't know the correct term for it).

I have the DTT Shift Enhanser....when it's on the daily setting, i get the clunk described here (consistant, 2-1 downshift)...when on tow or race, i dont have it....someone more technical than i with experience with the shift enhancer can explain the different settings (daily, tow, race) and what they do...could lead to an answer

My truck does the same thing and from what i have learned speaking with dusty when you DONT get the 2-1 downshift clunk you have a pressure loss.the clunk is caused by the increased pressure from the tweaked valvebody. Like TCR said if it bothers you, you could change a spring in the valvbody to make it less noticable. I am not bothered by it enough to change the spring as it would take away some pressure.
