Hey guys,

I am wiring up my light bar/off road lights today, and would like to tackle the brite box install finally. But I do know that with Canadian daytime running light trucks, the brite box has a problem 'cause the daytime light is a high beam at 5v, so it trips it every time you start the truck. I know there was a post on this with a solution (something about adding a power resistor into the brite box harness), but can't find it now.

Anyone know the post, or a solution on how to fix this? Please tell me ASAP. I'm gonna be in the garage working, and will check from time to time.

I had a similar issue with my PIAA's coming on due to 5v at the PIAA relay when running lights were on (I tapped into the high beam +supply wire). I used somewhere between 6 and 8 diodes to drop the voltage to where the relay wouldn't trigger (each diode drops ~0.7 volt). Not sure about the brite box circuitry, but it sounds like a similar problem.

 

thanks, I'll see if I can get some and try that. Not sure what line is the signal line on the brite box, but I'll see if I can figure it out.
