Break in Period for Goerends?
Just got the new Goerends T/C V/B and BD Flex plate installed
It there a break in period for the parts of can I just give it hell. Also, should the shifting be that much harder. When it shifts now YOU know it.

No real break in period to speak of especially with just a TC/VB. I am more concerned about how you descirbe the shifts... On mine it shifts wonderfully... I mean really. When driving conservatively, it shifts nice and smooth. Firm, positive and smooth, but no bang. When I am really into it, it shifts quite a bit harder, but that is the way it should be too under those circumstances. Maybe give Dave a call?

Sorry, I may not described that correctly. The tranny shift nice and smooth with normal driving and firm when laying smoke. I was talking in regards of feeling the T/C lock up.

OK-- makes sense now. A little of this depends on the gear you are in and the RPMs when locking up. When stock, you could experience a drop of nearly 400 rpms sometimes when locking and it was really noticable. With Goerends TC, it is a lot tighter (depends on exactly which one you got to a degree as well) so there is only a little, if any, rpm drop and it is not as noticeable. In my 3rd gear lockup I barely notice it at all. In 4th gear or 2nd gear it is a little more noticeable. What rpm you are at when it locks also has a bit to do with it. When you are WOT and it locks at higher RPM it is more noticeable than cruising and it locks in the sweet spot. Then sometimes I don't notice at all.

What I forgot to add was that this is all because the Goerends TC is "tighter" meaning more efficient and less "slippage" of the fluid. That means more power to ground. That "loss" or "slippage" was really noticible when the TC locked (stock TC) and is shown by that big RPM drop. By contrast, the Goerends shows its efficiency by the very low rpm drop when locking.

I noticed that the Attitude monitor for the T/C will slip for for just a split second when the T/C is locked up on setting 5 (heavy throttle) is this normal?

I don't trust the lock up feature of the Attitude monitor. It reads off the ECM so it should be registering lock up in 2nd when manually shifting and also in 3rd when the tow haul is activated and it doesn't. I expect that when I use my switch to lock it but not when the ECM does it.

I've also got a Goerends convertor in my Excusion (cummins swap). Anyways, do you notice a big difference in how much braking force is required to keep the vehicle from moving at a stop?
It's been kind of icy here recently and it was/is challenging to not lockup the front end and keep pushing it through the intersection.
I'm thinking I may need to adjust the brakes so that more pressure gets to the rear calipers...

When mine locks at 53mph, if I'm in a normal driving situation, my RPMS drop around 500rpm. What kind of converter is it? A 900/400 or a 15 blade left cut? I have the 15 blade..... My truck will bark when it locks and the rpms drop so quick.
