Brake up grade?? Can anyone help?

Hi

I own a 2003 3500 Dually HO Turbo Deisel. I need more braking power being I am way over weight in what I am hauling. Towing, the truck is tricked out and hauls like a dream. Thanks to BullyDogPup,S&B Air Filter, Air Bags on the rear axel,BullyDogExhaust & 56 Replacement Tank. My horse trailer has Air Ride and Air Breaks. I have a Combined Weight of 33,060 pounds when horses/saddles and what ever we need to be on the road is loaded. While in Georgia a few months ago I blew a tire on the trailer and it ripped out my break lines. So I had to bring the rig to a stop of course with the truck breaks only. Would appreciate if anyone could point me to some websites for break upgrades.

Thanks Steven

PS Ford guys I dont mean to be rude but please spare me.... I blow by F550's in the Appalachian Mountians doing 65 while hauling more then they are. So I am not upgrading the truck. I posted this on another board got 20 replies not one was any help it was ford owners saying Buy a Ford 550

Sounds like you really need an exhaust brake. Won't help with panic stops (like when you blew the tire), except for saving your service brakes for when you really need them.

I just put EBC yellow (diesel performance) pads on my truck this weekend. It's hard to tell right now, but they feel awesome. I kept the stock rotors and turned them due to $$, but you can upgrade the rotors also. Other than that, get an exhaust brake and drive carefully.

..... Upgrade the front axle???............

this may sound a little far fetched, lol. but i heard of a guy on pirate4x4 that designed some pinion brakes with the calipers to be mounted to the axle pumpkins. he used this setup on a 1997 dodge ext. cab 4x4 3500 drw truck. he used the truck to haul an oversized gooseneck out to glamis, and from what i remember it worked like a dream. he added a pinion brake to both the front and rear stock axles (not rockwell axles) in conjunction to his already existing brakes.

not sure if i would go this route, but at least you know it might be possible.

I concur on the exhaust brake, and it will help with panic stops too. As for the brakes I believe that there is some big brake kits out there for our trucks, but you will have to put on bigger tires and rims. ( I know that sbc dosent have them but I have heard that there is some out there, a person will have to some research)

I personally was going to go with powerstop products, they are supposed to be the cats meow
