the smarty works very well for towing. reduced egt's and improved fuel economy are a couple of benefits

Great box, adjustable on the fly, has built in pyrometer, boost gauge....

The new box also has a cool down timer and adjustable rail pressure!

In my opinion it is the most bang for your buck. It's a nice box to grow with your truck. My dad can't use it to it's full potential because he doesn't have supporting mods. BUT, after we get the bigger turbo and clutch on he will be able to turn it up more

If you run it on the standard program it doesn't start fueling until 12psi of boost. That REALLY helps a stock clutch/tranny live longer!

The Quad standard box is great for towing. it makes great power and is adjustable on the fly if needed. they also have the monitor for it to setup safety limits and keep an eye on things. The smarty sounds great but it is not adjustable on the fly and it doesnt have a digital monitor with safety limits. the TST is an awsome box but might be a bit overkill on most trucks. There are ather adjustable boxes out there like the Edge juice that would also be a good choice but i dont think any of em have the customer support that Quad does.

I understand the tst is overkill. It is over kill on 100% of the trucks that run it.

Nobody can run 9x9... It's a performance box made to suit EVERYONE'S needs. You just turn it up to where you feel comfortable. If you get more mods on your truck later on down the road you turn it up more....

IMO, it's alot safer than running downloaders or strickly pressure boxes. Pressure full time will eat injectors and with a downloader the risk is MUCH higher to screw something up...

Search and see how many downloaders have screwed trucks up. I know probably 10 off the top of me head. LOL

I got a smarty off e bay today! Should have it in 2 days! I need more diesel mileage for my tow trucks. Will try one and see what happens.

Downloaders are good at increasing mileage...

On my trip to Michigan I got 16.5 and on the way back (with the bully dog) I got 18.75.

That is the best mileage my truck has ever got! My problem is I hot rod it too much and I like the looks of black smoke I just leave it on Crazy Larry now since I have a rail pressure gauge and have confirmed that it doesn't add any extra pressure...

Also, GWoody got better mileage out of his 06 on a trip to Denver with his Smarty Downloader....

If I'm not in the throttle heavy, (since I have timing rattle now)..

My truck is ALWAYS on Crazy Larry now... When I get my timing issues fixed I'll go back to my old setup...

In the past, BEFORE all the issues I ran...

Tst on 7x2
Bully Dog on various settings
mp-8 off

I have the standard tst which doesn't add additional fuel until 12psi. SO, if I didn't have my foot in it (building more than 12psi) I wasn't adding fuel...

I liked it that way because when someone messed with me on the street I was already on KILL mode

On the dyno...

tst 7x2
Crazy Larry = 640hp. It was cool because all you had to do was bump the bully dog up on the fly (with the outlook monitor) and you were are 600+ hp

All of my trucks run 24 hours 7 days a week the drivers put about 300 to 500 miles per shift so I need something to help with fuel! Would a AFE cold air help out any with the mileage? My Trucks are 05 and 06 Dodge 3500 they are getting about 9 mpg
