Bought Sulastic Rubber Shackles

I should have mentioned something that could affect my results as well.
I do have LazarSmith traction bars installed. However, no adjustment to the bars were made before or after.

I've had mine for about 4000 miles......they worked as advertised for a little while, but after a 2500 mile trip pulling my trailer they gave up and are bottomed out on the stops.
They say i got a weak batch, but I have been trying to get a replacement set for the past 7 weeks, but nothing but runaround and lip service. Their customer service is poor to say the least.
From what I gather, they are grossly understaffed.......

I have a set that I am about to put on..HOPE that this is NOT an ongoing problem!!
Can you post a pic of what you mean by "bottomed out"??
Is it bottomed out on the oem bumper stop or on the SUlastic stop??

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
If anyone is buying new shackles, make sure that they are what Sulastic call generation 4. Most of you are probably running gen 3. I now have gen 4 on my truck. Originals were gen 3.

I believe these are a good idea but the engineer in me thinks they wont last based on their scissor design. A lot of weight on those small flex bushings in the middle. I am going with Kelderman 2 stage rear air bag system and Carli torsion sway up front. Need it for daily empty driving after we tow 5er down south each winter.

When I set them side by side, the only difference that I could see was that the stops are now rubber covered. Not sure, but the composition of the rubber may have also been changed a bit.
Not surprised if the odd shackle fails when the rubber gives up, because I was watching the guys making them. The raw rubber is laid in strips in the mold and then placed in the oven. The guy laying the rubber is using his bare hands, so any oil etc on his hands will get between the layers. Other than that, the manufacturing process looked OK.

Mine didn't change height, but maybe that's why they failed? I'm also on airbags, so these things have never seen a full load like a truck without bags would.
Assume I have the 4th gen's since they are only 2-3 months old?
Finally got them to send me a replacement set on Thursday. I had to pay for them and hopefully they will credit me back when I send the defective ones back.......Expecting resistance since every time they told me they would do something, they didn't.
Let you know how it goes.
