Can only speak for what I have been doing on my 2004.5
Stock turbo for 3+ years was run at 38lbs without any trouble.
I had searched around and that was the highest recomended if the turbo was to live a healthy life. Turbo was working fine when I upgraded to a Silver 62... The Silver has been running at 45lbs and truck likes this.. It may go to 47 0r 48 then settle to around 45..
I think 50lbs on the stock turbo you may be pushing that baby a little harder than it should. I am sure if you search around you will find many topics regarding max boost for stock turbo...
Good Luck, Jeff

As others have said 38 is about the most you want to run on the stocker.. I personally don't like going over 35 on mine (drive pressure gets to high above 2500 rpms at 35psi or more of boost)

ok thats what i thought i just wanted to make sure and so ya we took the boost fooler off right after we tested, but right now its in the shop for a new transmission, crazy that it went out after using the boost fooler, i know it didn't have anything to do with it but its just wierd

The boost fooler will make a difference in horsepower. The tranny was probably already hurt, but the extra power was most likely enough to finish it off.
The turbo like mentioned before is really only efficient to 35psi. Past that it gets out of it efficiency range and then starts to just make hot air. Plus at 45psi+ they become a ticking time bomb. They like to go POP...
