A line lok just holds the front brakes for you, nothing spectacular. It does make for some killer burnouts.

You push down on the brake pedal, push and hold button for line lock. Release brake pedal.
At that point, the line lock is holding your front brakes only, allowing the rear tires to spin freely wth no brake pressure holding them.

This also allows you to stage your truck with just using the clutch and throttle pedal (instead of trying to use your feet for all 3 pedals)

You can use your left foot for the clutch, right for the throttle, and your thumb to hold the line loc button. So then you can slip the clutch, using the throttle to build boost at the line. Then when the light turns green: mash the throttle, let go of the clutch/line lock button at the same time.

It will take some practice to get use to. And of course, you want to mash/release BEFORE the light actualy turns green to cut good reaction time. In our heavy trucks with poor 60' times, you can leave ALMOST when the last yellow light COMES ON. Yes, when the last yellow ( or all 3 if on a pro tree) comes on, THEN GO. Do not wait for the green. I our heavy of trucks with the poor 60', it takes awhile for you to release/mash and for teh truck to move, so if you wait until the green is on, your reaction time wil be horrible. Leave when the last yellow comes on, or when all 3 on the pro tree go yllow, leave. Try it and you will see what I mean.

With my old 98 12 valve, I'd launch it at 30 lbs of boost. The dual disc didn't like me, neither did my 5 spd. I blew 3rd twice and destroyed 5th. You have to be pretty nimble with your feet. Come to the line, put it in 3rd, 4wd, clutch with your left foot, brake and throttle with your right foot. Hold the brake hard, take the motor to 3K (put it in gear before you tach up), start loading the clutch, and when you hit the boost you want, dump the clutch and mash the throttle. I broke into the 13.9s with that old truck (only 475 hp at the time).

It is possible to get more than 5 psi by revving the engine. You just can't hold the pedal to the floor at 3000+ rpms, however. By "wicking" the throttle the ECM will add fuel to spin up the motor. Let off, let the motor spin back down, and then wick it again. After 5 or 6 wicks of the throttle my truck will make 7-8 psi of boost in neutral. Now that I have my GDP traction bars I want to leave harder so I leave exactly in the manner than Chrleb1 just described. Anything more than 15 psi boost and I will generally spin all 4 tires, though. This past weekend at Commerce, Ga I cut a 1.76 60' time with about 15 psi boost. My nitrous was on the fritz, and then I later blew a rail relief valve, but I ran a 13.07 @ 103 on #2 only with the 60' time above. The scales at the track showed my raceweight as 7255 lbs.

Most hot drag cars with autos are going with a trans brake.Don't know if they make one for this size operation yet,but it is far better than a lineloc as with a lot of HP and some really good traction you will have the ability to skid your front tires right through the staged light.

I know one thing for sure if you find one, make sure you get an adjustable rev limiter that controls your engine and don't go with the oem rev limiter or your smarty or what ever you run,and put the control switch on the same button.Less to mess with, unless of course your name is Greg Anderson.

We have a Line-Lok on the '05, armed by the BOMB panel and released with a WOT switch under the throttle. It's main purpose is to negate heel-toeing the pedals - but you can sure build boost with it!

One nice feature of launching with a stick is the inertial benefit of the engine turning at 2500 - if you manage the driveline shock, the truck will come out of the hole and get on top of the charger much faster.

We designed the system (since there's nothing turn-key we could find) using mostly off-the-shelf vendor parts.

... so yeah - I suppose it IS modified!

Sure - but I'd rather sell a hundred, or even a thousand!

How bout a price?

I really want one for burn outs just as much as anything so I dont know if the WOT switch would be the way to go for me or not. I would kinda rather have a thumb switch I could let off of when I want to release the brake.
