Question Boost gauge reading accurate?

How much boost should I have when I idle? My boost gauge (finished install about 30 minutes ago) shows 0# at idle. When I drive slowly, I get maybe 3-5#. The truck was cold, so I didn't hammer it, but with a little heavy throttle, I hit 20#. Does this sound right? A friend of mine has Bully Dog, and it reads about 5# at idle. When I warm the truck up, I’ll see what max boost is.

So whose gauge is working properly?

You should have 0 psi of boost at idle and you do so that's perfectly normal. The others sound pretty accurate as well.

But I'm at 0# at idle, and my friends BD (monitor) shows 5# at idle. Whose reading is correct?

Today I got up to about 32#. I thought my SuperB would go much higher. Oh well.

The BD monitor is not correct. There is no boost (or at least not enough to register) at idle.

there is no boost until the engine is placed under a load. I get 35 out of mine wide open throttle.

Cool, thanks guys. I feeld better now that my gauge appears to be working correctly.

Max is still 32#. I hope that's right for a SuperB.

that sounds right for the super b. it comes set about 32-34# of boost. the waste gate controls your max boost. you can adjust it but that is where that turbo is most efficent. the bully dog is wrong. you should have no boost at idle..
