Boost Fooler needed on BD Super B Single turbo Kit????

Did a search but did not get the specific info i needed. Recently purchased a BD Super B Single Kit from XDP. The kit came with a plug that fits into the electronic waste gate port and was called a boost fooler. I also bought a separate ATS boost fooler that plugged right into the MAF air sensor plug in the air intake. Do I need both of these components or just the BF that came with the kit??? Is there any difference in function between the two? Thankls Alex

Yeah bud two separate issues. One will stop your electronic wastegate code, you no longer have an electronic wastegate, it came out with the stock charger. The other will stop an overboost code you will get at over 40something lbs of boost. You need them both.

You should see upper 30's to low 40's on a stock fueled truck. The only way you are going to see the correct numbers is with a mechanical boost gauge, you are now boost fooling so any electronic gauge reading is going to be off due to the boost fooler.

Thanks again for the reply......after gettin the first easy 100 miles out of the way I put my foot into it....it really is better than stock more responsive and faster acceleration. I have a mech. boost gauge and max psi was 30...i'll check for boost leaks but do you think I need to adjust the wastegate rod a bit???? or do i need to put the bully dog into the next setting which is performance mode????

My last reply was way to early in the AM. It is going to depend on the tune, and its going to depend on what BD recommends running it at and where the gate is set. See what BD says the turbos max boost should be, then you can adjust the gate some. Just remember more boost is not always better.

Well did a couple of things ....I put the o-ring in that sits between the elbow and and turbo ...then tightened up the intercooler boot clamps ...also changed the bully dog from tow to performance ....managed to get a peak reading of 35psi but still floats right around 30psi....still need to do the soapy water thing and check for leaks....more results to follow.

Never did find any leaks but happy with the way it tows. Did a trip to sand mountain NV and pulled my 30" bumper pull toyhauler through the sierras fully loaded with toys and water. Pulled alot better and even passed a bunch of 18 wheelers on the way up. EGT's down quite a bit and throttle response is great under the load. overall very happy with the upgrade.
