Blowoff Valve?
Hi I am newbie to the board and I was wondering if anyone runs a blowoff valve and if so what kind and what does it do besides make a cool noise? I have seen them on a few Duramaxipads but not on a Cummins.

I Have the bd turbo guard on my truck. I have twins so its not really neccesary due to the fact that twins dont bark/surge like singles do in everyday driving conditions. Yes it does make the cool blow off sound when you let off the pedal at high boost but my truck is an auto so the only way to hear it is to stomp it and let off (kinda gets old). but I hear they are really cool for sticks because you have to let off to shift. I think its a great add on to prevent bark on a single I would say its worth the money if you want to prolong the life of your turbo.

I've got one. They do sound pretty cool. I like to think mine is functional and not just bling. I put it on because I can actually bark my twins with everything set to kill mode and let off from WOT while they are still building boost.

The hardest thing I've had in finding a turbo valve is they all seem to be geared for the ricer croud, and the highest set point I've been able to find is 35psi. Which leads to beg a question: do you set the blow off valve at a lower pressure point than the waste-gate? Cause mine is currently set at 39psi. I can get a Turbo XS Type H adjustable to 35psi from Summit racing for $160 which sounds a lot better than the $600+ BD wants for their's.

Yeah, if you want one for your diesel, the BD valve is about your only option. You need the electronics that comes with it to make it function correctly.
It comes with a flange that you weld on to your charged air tube just before the intake horn. BOV clamps to that flange. If you have access to a welder, the install is super simple. I would post pics in the thread if I could.
