Blocking The Wastegate

Ok I tried searching (albiet not for long) on how to block off the HX-35 wastegate (or delay it). I'd like to hit 30+ psi a little easier and longer.

You need an adjustable boost elbow. About $20 on ebay.
I see 32psi with the EZ set at level 4.

Hose clamp or bolt not a very good idea?

they would just hold it in place. The boost elbow works better. Plus you would save on fuel over a clamp. Or backing the bolts off the accuator

I agree, do it the right way. Adjustable boost elbow is the way to go.

Uhh,, what?? I dont agree with these guy's! I have seen more power and better gas mileage by blocking the wastegate! I have a $1.02 plug where the boost elbow is, and got it at Lowes in the plumbing section. I originally had a different style boost elbow I bought at a shop, but this plug works much better and doesnt make my turbo bark like the elbow did.

FYI, It took like 30sec. And gave a definate increase over the elbow adapter!

I'll never see that kind of boost out of this turbo. (one day either I'll have VG or twins, after the engine is out of warranty and I have that much spare money). If it'll hit mid 30s or stay at low 30s I'll be happy with a quick fix.

I'm hopeing that BossHoggs is a 600 series. Otherwise I agree on the turbo sound being that of a gernade.

So what can the factory turbo on a 610 see? And is this something the dealer coud find? I need more info on this please. My brother ran a boost elbow on a turbo volvo for years and it made a huge difference. Is it that simple to do on the CTD as well?
