Black Dually Rims, Cooper or Toyos...best price?
I need new sneakers for the truck by August inspection and I have two dented rims so I'm looking at a set of rims and tires. The rims I like are something like the RockStar in black with the standard rims up front and the Dually Rims for the back. Anyone know the rim width and spacing...as in are they a little more spacing so that I can run 285/75/17's. The tires I'm looking at are Cooper S/T's or Toyo OC A/T's... My S/T's wore like Iron even with tons of strip runs, towing at up to 38k combined for 1000's of miles. The Cooper's are way wider than the Toyos so I'd need a spacer with the Coopers. Anyone know the stud size and a part number for availability?
Locally the Toyos are like $185 and the Coopers are $275.
Thanks for all your help. Kerry

I'm sure I saw a picture of a Dually with Rockstars .... maybe it was posted by the DuallyStop. I just priced Toyo OC A/T 285/75/17's here and they want $335 installed plus taxes....That's just crazy.... I paid $167 for 265/70/17's. Anybody got some pix and links. Kerry

Well, I need the new sneakers soon...I have about 5k of towing heavy to do and 4k of tire....I have the rear s/t's cranked to 84psi and now the wearbars are keeping the tread up so its an even rougher ride...but the flatspotted tire is now worn out so it runs smooth.ks

I was thinking of 19.5's as I have 9 brand new tires but the American Force I like are only 6" wide 2900lbs and chrome Rickson's are just too expensive for me. Plus....I drive too much over 100 and those tires are not rated for above 65 as most of the big tires are. Plus they wine worse than super knobbies. I tow too much and too heavy for 22.5's. Thanks for the PIX...I want to get rid of the front dually adapters so I can run a locking hub set up and normal wheels on front. That's why I was thinking Rockstar's as they have both. Kerry

Does anyone know where they have black dually rockstars / rockstars in stock that are a good price....I never got a call back from the DuallyStop so I've pretty much given up on them....
Well I thought for sure I had a dented rim...I just got 6 new Cooper 265 70 17 discoverer s/t 's on and after they were balanced I still had all the bumps and vibrations I had with the one flatspotted tire. The rims had a ton of weights put all over the inside and outside.
I was po'd so I took it to my alignment specialist as I had just put the new ball joints on also...
They fixed the toe-in and caster a little bit and dynamically balanced the wheels on the truck.... $10 a wheel....Each wheel ended up with one tiny weight on it (0g to the heaviest of 52g)instead of pounds of weight on it and the truck is super smooth up to redline in od even though the tires are not broken in yet. I am SOOOOOOO HAPPPPPY....its like having a new truck. I can not believe how much better everything feels....unfortunately now that all the other crap is gone....I can feel what I think is a differential wear problem....nothing too noticeable just a slight whirrrr whirr whir then nothing then whirrr whirr whir. It is so minor that I'm not gonna frig with it until the next time I'm bored. Kerry

I got my Rockstars from 4Wheel Parts. I ordered them in Moab last Easter. I think about 170.00 each, special show price. Give them a call. Only problem I have had is the "XD" emblem has come off 2 wheels. They said they would send me new emblem, just vinyl sticker. but have not seen them yet. Running the Toyo 285/75/17 E with 2" spacers in rear.
