I am sure it has happened.
If yout converter/trans comes out it is just SMART to upgrade to a GOOD input shaft.
Sonnax seems to be the best.

I just bought the truck, added the power upgrades and within a few days lost my trans. I was still 'a rookie' (still am) when I went ATS with out billit shafts. At the time, I thought that since I wasn't a 4X and I didn't do the real hard core stuff I really didn't need the shafts. Well, now I wish I did get them and IF I do break mine, I will be KICKIN' MYSELF.

Id think you'd need and input, but could probably get away w/ the other 2 stockers unless you throw slicks on there.

I have called ATS 3-4 diff. times and would get a diff. tech., I would tell each one my mods. and what I do driving wise and told them that I would be hitting the track once in awhile. They said I would be fine. When I bought the trans. from a ATS dealer I asked about the billit shaft, if I would really need them, now on one hand they could of made some more $$$$, but I was told that unless I put on slicks and go regularly to the track or try sled pulling and that type of stuff, I really didn't need the shafts. The reason I'm asking is I wanted real life input from you guys. I'm still adding power mods. and I guess I'll be testing to see how far/long these 'new stock' shafts will last. ATS does install NEW shafts on all their trans. 'suposedly'.

I've had this truck for 5 months now and I love it!!! The power is KILLER and just keeps getting better as I add more. I gotta work on some others' cars to pay my bills off then I can buy the billet shafts before I add anymore power.

THANKS for the input so far..................
