Billet Flex plate Question
Hello I have a question on a 48Re trans that I have a banks converter installed on. I am looking to put in a Billet flex plate and want to know a few things. One what is the best one if any one has an opinion. Two do you need a spacer between the bell housing and block if you put one in. Three do you need and thing else to install it that would not come with the flex plate, like new bolts. Thanks

Bziggy.. I had a billet flexplate installed when I had Goerend do my 48RE, and after looking at the stock one (Flimsey) I was astonished that it would hold up to even a stock set up let alone one with more power.
I believe that it was a direct replacement (no spacers or any mods) and as for which is best, any of them are good... My sugestion is call Dave Goerend as he is the Guru on these transmissions. He is very down to earth and willing to answer all of your questions.
Good Luck

I have a Goerend's tranny and he sold me a laminated flexplate. I have had zero issues despite the high HP abuse it has been subjected to. My next choice would be the BD billet.
