Mine Does have the metal sides boy they sure do look like plastic unless you tap on it. So what is psi rating for 03 metal good for!

Replacements are metal. 2006 models will be metal.
they'd work alot better if the AC condensor wasn't in the way.
EGT's come down proportional to drop in intake manifold temperature (IMT).
Drop the IMT (with a better intercooler) and the EGT's should also drop

I recently blew up my intercooler at 30 psi on my 05, Edge Juice w/attitude set to the tow mode pulling 40ft toyhauler in the mountains limped it back home without trailer Dealer claims they have never seen this but Dodge told them there have been a few cases in the mid-west.
Product failure or inadequate design makes me a little nervous about towing again. What's the answer to this issue?

The larger intercooler such as the new one Banks offers will help to provide cooler more dense air to the engine which helps to increase performance and lower EGTs. The reason is compressed air from the turbo can easily hit temperatures approaching 400F going in to the intercooler. The more the intercooler can do to cool the air, the denser the air charge to the engine ie: more air molecules available for burning the fuel. This makes a big difference at higher boost pressures.

I moved my a/c condenser down. The top mount of my condenser is now located where the bottom mount was attached. I was able to get about 3/4 of the intercooler to direct air from the grille. I am also working on attaching washer fluid nozzles to the sides of the intercooler so when im at WOT I can spray to reduce temps inside the intercooler

Make sure youre replacement has metal end caps. Let us know how it goes.
MoparRiggan, can you post a pic in your gallery? How close to the road is the bottom of the condensor? I think you're onto something that would offer excellent value for the cost.
Sounds like the next Ford Lightning where they were going to use the AC system for even colder IMT's/higher boost.

I just installed the Banks 3rd Gen Intercooler this past weekend on my 2005. It is much bigger. It also came with the High Ram and much larger tubes from the turbo and to the High ram. I have pics of the install. I will post them this week.
