BHAF & Warranty Voids

BHAF & Warranty Voids
I was thinking of adding a BHAF. Will have to move and remount the filter minder and IAT sensor a little further down the elbow with the set-up I am considering. I know the answer to this is variable...what's the chances a dealer voiding my 7/70 warranty for that? I think it would be pretty hard to prove that a BHAF could cause other problems unless the IAT sensor is more critical than I realize. (Assume no other mods on truck.)

I have a BHAF on my truck. I drilled the end and used the grommet and filter minder from the stock unit. I have had my truck back to the dealer twice for warrentee work. They even replaced the VP-44. No mention of the air cleaner.

Changing your air intake is not what Cummins has a problem with. Changing to an "Oiled media type filter" is. Your BHAF is not oiled so you're fine....

I spoke with 4 different dealers (service mgrs., etc.) regarding aftermarket air intake (filter) systems and mufflers here in the Phoenix, AZ. area. They ALL said that as long as you had some sort of an air filter and muffler on the truck, you would be OK regarding warranty.
One even told me a story about a guy that put a mans sock on the throttle body of his gasser and when his warranty was denied, he said that it was a recommended filtering method when racing.
You might ask the dealers that you may have to deal with what their policies are.
