It's not just the quality of the tire, it's that they're undersized for the weight of the truck...IMO.

My limited slip seems to work good....At one point I left the truck in drive, got out, and walked around....Kinda crazy to watch all four tires turn with nothing more than gravity holding it back....How I wish I had my old Firestone radial t/a's back....Those were good tires...Half-ton truck of course, but man I liked those tires alot

VERY WELL said. The worst I ever saw were firestones that came on 2002
suburbans. Shop worked on ft. end twice. Still pulled like crazy.Put on
set of Michelin ltx...rode like a feather. Michelin DOES RULE the pavement.
Those same rugged trails are faring as well......Yall are right on the mud, though...They're dogs!

I've rotated the rugged trails properly....have 47000....They'll probably go another 30,000 for sure.

The stock tires must go, Mine are in my back yard w/ 20k on them I hope to sell them on craigslist soon.
On a positive note....the pirellis have been a pleasant surprise. I haven't had to get through any mud, but they do well on ice and don't hydroplane on an eighth inch of water.

My truck wasn't a year old when I had to replace al four Michelin LTX A/S under warranty for side wall cracking and some bulgeing. Good news is they replaced them with the BFG Rugged Trail. Ever try getting up a wet boat ramp. I have to do it in 4x4.

I have gotten over 50,000 miles (highway) out of my BFG RT's. You are correct, in that they are no good for off road.

My buddy has the BFG's on his new truck and was complaining about them to me the other day Said he about got stuck at a construction site he was working at I really like my mastercraft courser C/T's. With a little wheel speed they really throw the mud. I got in a BAD spot with the goosneck one morning. I had to haul my buddies 24 valve after school that day and I had a low tire on the trailer. It had rained quite a bit that night, and I had to back down to the shop to pump the goosneck tire up. Well there were a few things downhill of me I had to try not to slide into while pulling back up the hill to get back to the road. I started easing forward and just kept sliding downhill. So I stopped and backed up and got the goosneck straightened back out pretty good. This time I just put the hammer down and let it eat out of there. Once I got her spooled good in 1st gear 4hi we were coming out of there. I was a little sideways but it sure was fun. I hated washing the truck though

I've got 65k on mine Everybody here is correct, they suck for using in any type of off-road application, but if you're mainly on the road, they wear super. I expect another 10k+ miles out of them, at least. If I have to go off-road, I get our 77 Dodge M-880.

i scrapped mine at 5200 miles because I was tired of getting stuck on snow and ice up here in NY. Put on some 305 Pro-Comp Extreme AT's, and aint looked back. Gave the old BFG's to a friend of mine for his 2x4 Chevy. Hope he has better luck with them down in Lousiana!

Hope they are better

I just had these BFGoodrich installed on my new truck under warranty from Michelin. They look like they will handle better than my stock tires. I wanted the KO but I wound up with these. I do not have a 4x4 and use it a minivan/truck to pull the family and camper. The only time it goes in grass is to pull out the camper. They can't be any worse than the stock Goodyear Wrangler ST on my old Chevy Silverado. I can't believe they still sell them.
