Beta 555 Juice W/Attitude! 454.8 HP!
Edge Products sent Cody to BD Dyno Days this last weekend with a "New Beta 555 Juice W/Attitude" for me to try out.
Last year when I dynoed at BD, I had a AirAid intake and a 51" Nelson muffler, that was it. I dynoed 250.7 HP.
I put a B1-2-04 on this last January and have been running a EZ. When Aaron from Edge told me he was sending the 555 Juice W/Attitude he asked be to dyno it without the EZ. So when Cody and I hooked it up we removed the EZ.
Cody and I took a test drive to get it setup and Cody asked me if it felt any different from my other beta. I told him it was hard to tell, since I haven't had it for 9 months, but I thought it was about the same, but alot smoother. (With the beta I had from May to the end of July of 2004, I dynoed 382.9 with it.)
I let Christian from BD run the Ghost Rider, figured he was familiar with his dyno and would get more HP out of it than myself, someone started talking with me and I missed the peak numbers, I saw 415 or 418, Christian says to me while letting the truck idle down, "How do you like those numbers?", I said what was it 415 or 418? He said no, 454.8 HP! That surprised me!
This means, with the B1 and Edge's Beta Juice w/Attitude it was a 204.1 HP increase over spring of last year (2004) when I dynoed at BD!
Here is the dyno sheet: (ignore the torque numbers, they are not correct, BD didn't hook up the sensor for torque)
After the run, Cody told me that there was still more they can get out of the Juice!
From my understanding, Edge is hoping to have the 555 Juice available the end of May!

BD has a Mustang Dyno. The Dyno-Jet will usually yield better numbers.

Explain to me why I need to buy another product when I have already spent the coin to get/install boost and EGT gauges and their mount? I have a 6-speed, so if the clutch slips I need a new one. There's no practical use for someone like me to have the monitor product. How do the two boxes connect?
I could see giving a discount for the Juice if you purchase both but come on!

I don't want an A2, it's gaudy and does things I'm simply not going to use. Feature creep doesn't sell me any products. If it would make me some Juan Valdez coffee in the cold morning, that's something I'd use (think Bruce Almighty). It sounds like the thing has good numbers (Juice on TDR said 180HP for a hot Juice on the 04.5+).
Edge can be found in any performance catalog or any magazine, they spend the bucks on advertising like Banks. They cater to that crowd, not the geeks on DTR and TDR who know there are other options (TST, BullyDog, Quad, etc etc).

I like the A2 for the GPS, backup camera, built in guage/monitors and, of course, the chip. Is that feature creep? *shrug* Maybe, but I do like those features and can see using them quite a bit.
I was concerned with the size when I first saw it, but I just got my wife a Garmin 2610 which is - I think - about the same size as the A2. It fits nicely on my dash when I borrow it for my truck, so I'm not worried any longer about that aspect.
