I ran 4.2 for a while and it ran great. But for me it was just too much for the street. It had a nasty attitude. I settled on 4.4 for daily driving and the strip.
I have found with tnt set to #3 moderate torque management and #3 moderate rail pressure to be close to 4.4 but a bit more powerful. I don't like the elevated rail pressure of #3 and prefer to add pressure with my va3.1 when needed so I'm running #2 mild rail pressure. This set up is a bit smoother than 4.4 idling at 7K and running arround 2K less pressure accross the rpms but will still hit 24K at wot.
I hope this is usefull information.

ok, only a 30 minute test run...will continue to test next 3 days....just tested street performance, freeway run, 0-100mph (closed course of course)

With RP = 4, it's actually really close to 4.4 (mod tq mgmt)....it's still smooth, but there's some real throttle response, smooth pull, quick boost...very nice...appears very fast, even though the sotp meter doesnt feel as agressive as my 4.4....the speedo doesnt lie.

Between the website warning and what i'm seeing for rp thought, it's a little mentally disarming....

Idle 9k - Same as 4.4
1/8" throttle / cruise - 20-21k (about 2k higher than 4.4)
WOT - high 25k (about 500-1k higher than 4.4)
I didnt drop down to rp =3, but if i recall correctly, it's waaaay less than either 4.4 or rp = 4, and the response goes in the toilet (at least on my truck)

As 4.4 was never an official release, there's no warning, but i think it's a no brainer that the pressure is a little high for stock injectors....i dont think there's any doubt that TnT rp = 4 is too much for stock injectors....

So opinions...i'm looking for a daily driver with great response / power ....just to screw around with.....if i were to upgrade my injectors to F1 Flux 1.5's (70hp)...would they provide enough "protection" to run rp =4 on a daily basis? Or is it just common sense not to regularly run high pressures on a daily basis?

Beta 4.2 is the most powerful of the beta's.

Why do you say your truck hated it? 456HP 956TQ is quite impressive with your mods....

In my truck tnt is the smoothest s/w I've ran but at wot it's the most powerful. Maybe even more than 4.2. 4.2 was a tire shredding beast with little if any torque management. I never dynoed with it and was afraid to run it at the strip for fear of tearing something up.
I believe tnt will work if folks start with the milder settings and work up a little bit at a time. If your cp3 can't keep the rail pressure up a lower duration or lower rail pressure will help. Raising the rail pressure can drain the rail sooner.

To realize the difference fully between the 4.2 and TNT,...

you have to have the right mods which is why generally speaking Bob tries to pre-qualify those getting the TNT. I made back-to-back runs on TST's Mustang and the TNT was 106hp MORE than the 4.2. Nothing else was changed in the setup. I am only suggesting that at least with my mods on MY truck then that was the difference.

Another truck which was pretty much stock(intake exhaust) made 488hp on tnt and 448hp on 4.2.

Its a weird situation, some trucks are responding great to the TNT, stock to high modded, some aren't. I think the main thing ppl look for is the SOTP feel, but don't realize the more linear throttle band is distibuting the power in a different way. The 4.2 is a nasty program, I run it on sw5 and 2nd gear takeoff is almost impossible, the throttle is just too touchy so I've grown a bad habit of taking off in 3rd (not all the time, but more and more).
