Fill a sparybottle up half way with water and add a teaspoon of vineager. Also works great for cleaning the insides of your windows. Will not streak. Try it, you won't believe how good it works. I use RainX on the outside. Bugs just slide right off and leave skidmarks.

Easy and non abrasive fix

Per many RV site postings, to clean bugs etc off the front of your 5th wheel use Bounce or like kind dryer sheets. Non abrasive as far as scratching etc but does owrk well. Should also work on the windshield just as good.

Try it, you'll like it!

On Two Guys Garage a while back, they said to use Bar Keepers Friend. Works nice !

Well 2-Stroke, that IS a good question. Maybe all that bug dung and guts is affecting his aerodynamics and cutting into his fuel economy? Goes to performance?

Let me add to the confusion here - I start with a ladder 'cause I cant seem to reach where they like to splatter the most - then I use the water and vinegar mixture along with one of those kitchen dish washin' scrubby things to get them loose - from there I use the Rain-X - it lasts about a year before needing to be done again.

umm very simple:

1st, I have a 3rd gen and this pertains to a 3rd gen and plus this is a performance issue. Clean/smooth window= better aerodynamics therefore higher top end speed.....DUH

Uhh, its not so simple there Viking. See... those bugs, sap and bird poop (that your trying to get rid of) actually decrease the amount of friction between your truck and the surrounding air by creating a boundary layer that inturn helps stream line the air over your truck, much like a golf ball and its dimples. So, there you have it. Please dont ask Common Sense 101 questions in this section of the Forum.

Oh, and it you want a higher top end speed, actually buy a programmer.

The first thing that came to my mind was to post a picture of a bikini chick washing my windshield with her .....ummm...clothes so to speak, but I figured if I actually went to the trouble to find a picture and post it, I would get a slap on the megabytes by the mods.

The thought of it makes me smile!

I will second the Bon Ami comment. Nothing cleans like it. Doesn't require much elbow grease either.

I was gonna say LOT'S of Cleaner and plenty of elbow grease and maybe a newspaper or two.

Sprayway glass cleaner (it foams) in the blue and white bottle. Timeless and works awesome.

Microfiber RULES-- if you aren't using it, you're wasting effort.

Cleaning a windshield is one thing. Removing scratch/haze is another.

There are windshield polishes that actually remove a little glass (Eastwood Co has a nice kit), but be deliberate when using them....
