Best way to 800 hp

First of all I would like to say that I am new to this site ( a few mounth's now ) and would like to say that it is one of the best forums I have been on.

I am not new to the diesel world, but i am new to CR's, i have a 12 valve that i rebuilt the engine and trans on, along with a few other go fast goodies.

But enough of that, a month ago i picked up a 2005 2500 quad cab with the 325 hp engine and a automatic, the engine is in need of repair has alot of blow by. The plan is rebuild the engine and transmission and to shoot for 750 to 800 hp and use it as a daily driver and to have fun at the track with.

What i need help with is what should be used to get to this point, i plan on a full billet trans, cam, and some mild head work.

What Injectors, programmer, injection pump, turbo and what ever else you can think of would be a good combo to achieve this goal, also what would be the best cam?

thanks Nathan

62/71/13 over an s480 turbo, studs, dual pumps, fuel system and flux 4's, Smarty programmer with Mp8. Very streetable combo that will do 800 all day long.

xtras that would be a nice add on: cam and springs, intercooler, coolant bypass

lloyd,

I just want to make sure I read this right, 800rwhp without valve springs. Is that safe? I trust your opinion 1289 is a large number, just wondering.

You can skip the springs...if you stay under 75 psi and 3200 rpms...

exactly LOL! I made mid sevens on fuel with stock springs and went to the springs when I started playing harder. Springs are a nice peace of mind item though.

lloyd,

What would you put under a 62/65/13SS, 480 or 400? I think I made a mistake going to a 64 and could be going back to a 62. But I will need something under it

I have a 62/71/13 over a 480 and it is the cat's meow with 3.3's, I have 4.3's on the way. Get the 71, you may run into DP issues in the future with the 65, and the dual wastegates work well in getting the flow to the big charger. Jay

IIRC there are some trucks making over 1000 with at 62/71/14 over s480 on giggle gas.

what mistake with a 64/65/13? Great as a single and even better as a twin.

The drive pressure is fine up to pretty big hp.

Well, I wouldn't say the 65 is a mistake per se, but the 71 would definitely keep dp's more in check as the hp ante is up'ed. I guess it is the kind of thing if I already had a 65 I would go with it but if I were buying one I would try for the 71. Going with 5's huh, Christian? Gonna get nasty quick buddy, she will be super sick. Jay
