best programmer and how to whistle
i have a 2003 dodge cummins 5.9 and i was wondering what some of the best programmers would be for the 5.9...not looking to spend 1000 on one...and what all could i do to it to make it whistle and blow a lot of smoke....i have the silencer already removed and 4 inch exhaust all the way with no muffler or cat...

A Smarty Jr would probably be a good starting programmer, very good power for the money. Any open element air filter system will enhance turbo whistle, although they may not be best for performance, I like S&B's air intake kits the best, but there are several as long as you stay away from K&N.
As for smoke.....your on your own there. Jess

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
Smarty Jr or Sr for a programmer. You can get whistle several ways and it all has to do with the air intake.
And if you want it to "Blow a lot of smoke" you're just giving the tree huggers more ammo to put more regulations on diesel owners.

For the whistle... go here ****** Whistler
For the programmer, I'm a fan of my Bully Dog Triple Dog with Crazy Larry. As far as the Smarty, I've heard what I have is around 6 on Smartys scale of 10, but if I went any more than I got now, then I'd have many other upgrades to do to not blow something up

My Diablo Predator provides more than enough fuel and it's cheaper. Forget the smoke - that's kids stuff. MPG goes down and oil soot goes up. I think the ring helps aerodynamics and airflow. A lot of guys were taking out the silencer tube to get noise and replacing it with a coffee can and that's harmless except to your ears. You could throw away the entire intake if you only care about smoke and noise and not the environment or the health of your investment. You'll have plenty of noise and smoke as soon as you dust the engine and it wouldn't cost anything. Craig

Need Help!!
Just rolled my 2004 Dodge (Cummins 5.9). Total loss- I loved that truck. I had the Tripledog (Bullydog) installed- getting over 25 mpg. Anyhow, bought an '05 w/ the 610 Cummins 5.9 yesterday and need to know, if I re- download the info off of the Bullydog website can I reuse the same unit on the new truck w/out worrying about screwing anything up in the new truck?
