Best Power Adder and Gauge Setup?
I haven't really paid much attention to the truck scene for several years. My 2005 (warranty expired long ago) has had a Smarty on it since 2007 and regular A-pillar gauges.
My DiPricol EGT gauge has died, and with them out of business, my only real choice for a replacement is an ISSPRO, which doesn't match nearly as well. The boost gauge of course still works fine.
I find myself considering selling off the Smarty, losing the pillar gauges, and going another route, since it seems there are a number of slick graphical-display gauge boxes out there. When I had my 2001, I had a Diesel Dynamics (Edge) setup... their Ultimate Power Module along with injectors and stuff.
What's available that offers the adjustability of the Smarty, and also has a nice multifunction gauge display? What's everybody's favorite? I normally run my Smarty on Mode 7 (+130) for regular driving and Mode 5 (+90) for towing my 5th wheel. EGTs have always been very good. I almost don't need an EGT gauge at all, but I'd never run without out.
Thanks!
Rob
