Like WileyC, I have the VA-C3.2 & the Tone Ring Mod on my '03, HO, 6-sp, also.
The "VA-C3.2" is a Van Aaken C-3.2, duration-only box that has three settings. Stock, 65 HP & 130 HP (all rear wheel HP, per Van Aaken). The duration-only box works by stretching out the time, or duration, that the injector stays open, thereby allowing more fuel to enter the combustion chamber, & making more power. (I chose the VA-C3.2 because I was afraid of the higher pressure boxes & the damage I've heard they, possibly, can cause. The VA-C3.2 adds NO pressure. Seemed like a SAFER box, to me.)
The Tone Ring Mod basically, adds more timing & gives you a small bit more power & a bit better fuel economy. It seems to work well with the VA-C3.2. Some of the more sophisticated boxes offer combinations of timing, duration & pressure.
If you are "mechanical" enough to do oil changes & rotate tires, you can probably do the TR mod. Superduty had a good explanation of how to do it. That's where I learned & I am, certainly, no mechanic!!!
You pull off the lower, crankshaft pulley & the TR is right behind it. Looks like a circular saw blade with carbide tips, on it. There is an "alignment hole" for the alignment pin to go into & you grind or file about 1/16" off the counter clockwise side of the hole, which, allows the TR to rotate clockwise, slightly, when you reinstall both it & the crankshaft pulley. I believe it's supposed to advance the timing about 2 deg's.
One of the things some of us consider is the ability to put the truck "back to stock" in the event that it needs to go to the dealer for warranty repairs. I tried to do mods to my truck that were reversible. About the only thing that isn't is the muffler. And that isn't an issue with the dealers in my area.
In the tests I've done, I have found that the aftermarket air intake system I have, didn't do much, at all, for performance when considering how much it cost. For the amount of power I have, I think "swiss-cheesing" the air box would have provided the same amount of benefit and all you have to do is drill a couple of holes in the bottom of the box. I think the intake systems come into play when you are producing "radical power".
However, the muffler & probably the air intake system, do help lower EGT's.
Hope this helps.

WHERE is a good place to BUY this stuff from?
WOW - Great replies Guys. Now let me start of by saying I do have an Auto. I am more than a Little able when it comes to tinkering so I can handle as much as I care to tackle~!
This is what I have gotten from my first read of the replies.
Get a better Muffler and leave the stock pipes alone - that’s easy.
Air intake seems like a maybe - instead do a K&N filter and remove baffles from stock intake? Is that about right? Might get the sytem for the lower egt - just as a saftey measure.
Sounds like the VA C-3.2 will be a given and Ring tone mod or Roc teck Sensor which I am leaning twards as it does the same thing and is easy to remove also!
I also see that most everyone says do some gauges - I DO not want a Pod in this truck nor do I want deal with Running sensors and so forth. Not that I can’t BUT I don’t want to. I will not be doing further mods as this is actually my wife’s Truck - Like I said I got a 11 sec Trans Am that I play with (drive) so Not looking to get stupid with the truck! Is it Possible to do these few mods and be confident in safety without the gauges to monitor the system?
THANK you all for the replies, Arkangel77
PS - I read the post about the Valve body BUT also don’t want to go into Tranny unless it is absolutely necessary.

Guys where is a good place to order these parts from?
I am thinking the Pyro is a gauge of some sort and the quad XZT is a muffler right?
Are any of these monitors you guys refer to just plug in play or do all of them require adding sensors & running harnesses???
Thanks for the Help, Arkangel77

The Quad XZT is a performance box. As far as the gauges I would suggest using the search button and study up on how to install. It will make you a pro in no time. I installed all my gauges with the help of a buddy in just a few hours.
Good luck! Usta
