I know some people hate them, but I have had good luck with the BFG AT KO's. I got 90,000 miles out of my BFG Rugged Trail tires, but the traction sucked.

Hello,

Had 4 sets of the AT KO's and all went over 60,000 miles. Best combination of on/of road I have found that last long.

I have put over 50,000 on my BFG AT KO 285/70 R17 with the D load range in all conditions. They performed excellent. Looking at getting BFG AT KO 265/70 R17 in E load range this set. Hope its not a bad move going back down to OE size.

You don't have to. BFG now makes the AT in a 285/70/17 E as well. I just don't know who is running them yet to see if they like them.

I'll second the GY Silent Armors. Bought them last Dec. Very very good in snow and ice. Quiet, and ride good.

I went from the D to an E rated 265..........firmer with less roll but very nice ride.

Hey CJ, dude I have the Procomp Extreme AT's in the 305/65/17's and I like em, little bit of road noise but not bad at all. BUT I think I may try time the Mickey Thompson ATZ's in the same size next time I need tires!

Toyo's have a load cap of 2755 lbs.
Hankooks 3415 or 3750lbs.

Do any heavy towing?

Im partial to the BFG AT. Had them on my 06 and got about 55k out of them. My neighbor runs the Mickey Thompson ATZ and he loves them. He just got them a month ago so cant say anything for mileage, but they are a little louder than the BFG due to the more aggressive tread.

I have the BFG A/T KO's in 285/65/18 E on my 06 and love them. I tow 13K lbs. of fifth wheel, and daily drive it. Have about 30K miles on them now and they look like they will last another 30K at least. They SUCK in any kind of mud, ANY kind, but are great in snow and wet weather. I can't hear them while driving and they look good. Very happy.

However, put GoodYear Wrangler Durtrac's on the Touareg in 265/70/17 E, and they are even better than the BFG's in every way. They have a SLIGHT hum you can hear, but only because the Treg is so quiet. These are the tires that are going on the truck next, if the friggin BFG's would wear out.

Just got some Hankook ATM RF 10's in 285/70/17. They are a lot more aggressive when you see them up close as opposed to the picture you see on the net. I chose them for the best combo of price, load rating, size, tread pattern and mileage warranty (50k!). These are replacing truxus MT's for snow duty. Now I highly valued the truxus MT's for being quiet and doing so well in ice and snow, but the very soft compound wore quite rapidly and I barely got 30k from them. Let me say that we have had some pretty bad snow storms the past couple of days here in NorCal dumping a couple of feet where I am at and these Hankooks are just fabulous! I am very impressed with them so far and they cost me 880 out the door. I will follow with long term results as I have them but for now these are as good in ice and snow as any tire I have had before.
