best 64mm turbo

I plan on doing a turbo sometime soon and figured I ask some questions.. I see a million threads on here but still unsure. I have whats in my signature now but plan on doing more upgrades eventually also like injectors/cp3. I don't tow anything really anymore but if I do, maybe once in a blue moon I don't want any trouble and it will probably be just around town maybe like a boat or trailer full of fourwheelers etc.. So pretty much I want something for HP and little bit of towing just in case. When I race I do both stop light to stop light or slow mph rolls and drag strip.. I can live with a little lag but I don't want it to have a ton... I know ill have to sacrifice some things for performance.. Just not sure what size 64 or brand like htt or II..

If you can't do twins... Ind Inj, 64/14 gets my vote!
I drove one on a 550 hp 2nd Gen and was very impressed with the lack of lag!

Everytime I talk to someone with an II 62 or 64...it's a total love affair!

I just don't know the HTT well. I'm impressed with their company...the one time I sp with Paul(?).
I love their 2nd Gen Manifold. Been a winner for me!
If they are working with the lattest Borg Warner S300's, should also be great?

I have a HTT 62ss and I love it, I would definitely look at the 64/71-13ss or even the 16cmss housing.

I spoke with Nathan (Idahoctd right???) He builds twins and recommended that if twins were in the books down the road or even a consideration to go with a big 64 for a bigger set of twins. HTT 64/71/13 was his reccomendation to me. I got a great deal on a used A5k so I went with it.

I have read good things about HTT and II. With htt wouldn't the 64/71/13 be a little more laggy then 64/65/13? New to turbos and tryin to get it all figured out.. I wouldn't mine buying a turbo now and slowy down the road piecing a twin turbo setup together. But I def need a turbo now. I figured the 64 was best for me because Im looking for a little higher hp and it seems like 66 is a lag monster and 62 spools super quick so I thought well 64 is in the middle so maybe that best for me.. Just don't want a huge laggy turbo til I can get around to twins maybe one day

The 64/65/13ss will spool better than the 64/71/13ss. It won't cool as well as the 71 and the drive pressures may be a little higher, but overall, an incredible turbo on the street. Tac

What kind of EGT difference would there be between a 65 and 71? Big difference in spool up time?

Not a big difference, but noticeable, egts should be about 100-200* within each other. I can't see 1250* on mine and i've seen ppl report 1300* with the 65 wheel and similar mods. For the auto, i'd really look at the 65 wheel, it will spool very nice...

You are running a 62 though correct? Im talking about a 64. Will EGT/spool up still be the same? Is there any hp difference in the 71 or 65

CGmorgan06 has my old 64/71/13. Him and I both agree it a awesome turbo for the street and even towing. With the 6-speed it spooled quick. and ran cool temps over 500hp
