FYI - the lobe on the F1 cams for the lift pump is great for the second gen guys, it will work. Won't for the third gen due to the block not being cast with the opening in the side. Suppose you could get creative though!
I was really stoked about that when I first heard about using the mechanical lift pump, lemme tell ya!

Did you guys do your own install or hire a shop? I was told to ask about the need for lifters when switching cams due to possible bad ware patterns. Any prob there?

Streetsmoker - a couple of us got together and installed mine. Not for the faint of heart, but also doable. We didn't put new tappets in. IIRC, some of the other vendor's products require them, especially the higher rev'ing 12 valve applications.
