been reading now i have a question
i am going to get a 6" suspension lift BUT want a really good ride from what i gather all the off the shelf kits are about the same and was wondering if i could piece together a lift kit for my self? and if so where do i begin? i was planning on just ordering a plain 6" lift and then ordering shock towers and some reavoir shocks for the front but am not sure if that would make a difference? well any help is appreciated......and not looking into kore or carli since i dont want just 2.5-3" of lift so no need to get into that discussion here....thanks for the help

None of the off-the-shelf kits are gonna give you a real good ride quality because they all use stiffer than stock springs. The ride may be close to stock, but it will be somewhat stiffer. If you are wanting a good ride quality I would call and talk to Don @ Thuren Fab. By the time you buy a basic kit and then add all of the components you can simply get a custom kit from him and be set.
An ideal setup would be 6" lift coils, his shock towers, custom valved King reservoirs, add-a-packs with a 2" or 3" block, some radius arms, adjustable track bar, and extended links/drop brackets all from Don. Talk about smooth riding and performing awesome. You got to have $$$ to play, but it would be well worth it in my opinion if you want an excellent combination of looks and performance......

There's always Kelderman, they offer a like 4"-6" airride kit. Or maybe go to topguncustomz, and get 3"-4" springs and a 2"-3" spacer, add the dual shock kit, and custom length or adjustable control arms, steering correction, then of course something for the back.

I hear that....... You may pay a bit for Don's stuff as well but you get the performance to compliment the looks and you also have a one of a kind suspension system designed for YOU.

if its "ride" you want Kelderman is the only answer. I plan to order my 2008 megacab this month it will get a 24" frame stretch for a long box and then straight to Kelderman west in riverside cali for the big lift!
