Would someone look at the speed too? Was that in third or do you have really small tires?

I used to hit 130 with 35's AND NOW 140 with 37's on the dyno...

Those graphs seem a little sketchy...sorry...JMHO.

My understanding of the R850 is that it's not a simple upgrade like the R700 kit. You have to buy the whole setup, which probably puts it in the same price range as an MPI custom setup.

I'm about to do the R700 upgrade & will post initial feedback & dyno results asap.

It depends what you have to start with. It is definately not an easy switch like upgrading from towing twins to the R700. But if you need that much air the switch is worth it. Malcolm at Harbour City Diesel ran in the 9s at 150+ mph with this setup.

What's the upgrade route if one has the R700 upgraded from Towing Twins? Do you just modify the existing turbos or is there all new plumbing & turbos required?

We have to machine your primary housing and put in a bigger wheel. That is about $500. Then you need the Super B Special turbo. All the plumbing stays the same.

Third gear, 35" tires.
Those are kilometers....Not miles per hour.......I'm up in Canada dude.

Malcolm is a no BS guy and would never /alter/correction factor/ or fool with a dyno run...in any way.
Ask anybody that does business with him or races with him.....He's honest to a fault and is a serious drag racer, not some sort of poser.

Ask Bob Wagner, Opie, Randy Lyman (Randy's Ring and Pinion) or anyone that knows Malcolm if he would fudge a dyno run.....I dare you!

Jamie, pretty sure the graph posted is in mph...kms would be even less. In any case I don't think anyone is questioning Malcolm or is business.

Sorry, my bad.
Malcolm usually sends them in KPH...I didn't even check.

What you are seeing is quite obviously a fuel system overpowering an undersized air system....There is no more air to sustain the higher rpm's.....
Like kantdrive55 said the turbos were never designed for that much fuel.

I looked at my dyno graph from April's BD event.
With the 850hp turbo set and the TnT(R) the Dyno operator let off at about 118Mph at between 4100 and 4200 rpm.
Peak power was at 100.0 mph.

There is no way I can hit 130mph in third gear...So I assume our gearing is different.

kantdrive55 mentioned the 850's supporting 1000hp.
I believe this was attained with a small shot of nitrous....Just so we are clear.

Still using the 83mm turbine and T-4 housing huh? They spool good but are way small for the power people are pushing them to. It would be interesting to see drive pressure vs. boost numbers at 850hp

They seem to work pretty good for Malcom. His motor is right at about 850hp.

I have a truck that puts out 536/1020 and runs a 12.76. This is on #2 only with no water. Stock injectors, cp3, (verified by John_P and othrgirl) ....that calculator is WAY off....try this one

I would be more interested in measuring the drive/boost pressures at 863.9Hp.

I am very happy with the setup....They spool quickly and are fun to drive in traffic.
Do they give a lot of power away at the dyno events?....Time will tell, but even if I'm a few Hp down I like the way they work on the street and at the racetrack.

Not taking anything away from your turbo sets iether....I'd need to be blind not to appreciate the workmanship and the big power numbers being laid down.......Different strokes I guess.
