I've done some checking and the repair manual says the factory lift pump will not exceed 5 amps. A Holley Blue only draws 3 amps max.

You think I can get away with just powering the Holley directly off the stock pump wiring? I know that's usually a big , but it's only 3 amps max and the stock wiring should be able to handle that...I would think.

I tried checking the size of the fuse for the lift pump, but can't seem to find one underhood that's labeled as lift or fuel pump. Anyone know which fuse is for the lift pump?

Yes...the Holley Blue will run all day on the OEM harness.

Still just a bandaid IMHO...

Yeah, I think you're right about it being a bandaid. I just need something to hold me over for now until I can order/install the GDP kit. I can get the Holley and parts needed to install it for about $125 so it's not toooooo much of a waste of money.

Why don't you buy the walbro, bypass regulator, fill tube tee, wire harness, and a few feet of hose...and be able to re-use all of that later on for $175ish?

That was my first idea, but Richard said I would still have to buy the full kit if I was just installing the Walbro inline.

Can you explain it to me too? How to set it up and where to get parts.

I don not want to step on Rich's toes...

Buy the kit if you can...it is worth it.

If you look at all the parts and pieces included...well worth it. If you are in a pinch, and need a GOOD bandaid for a while...keep looking at the parts and you can figure out what you need as a minimum to make it work till you can buy/install the rest.

A powerfull pump like the Walbro need to be bypassed regulated...

Rich/Glacier Diesel is the man...give him the business.
